Sekayi Kyagulanyi is a Data Science undergraduate at Arizona State University, graduating December 2026. He is currently based in Berkeley, California.
Being the eldest son of Robert Kyagulanyi, he haspersonally been impacted by the cruelty of authoritarianism in Uganda.
These experiences have led him to speak out for others facing the same conditions through his social media handles. His research revolves around how authoritarian regimes sustain themselves, ways forward toward democracy, and other political analysis. He also recently worked as a Software Engineer doing applied machine learning.
His career goal is to work in international law and policy, all with the long-term aim of strengthening the democratic institutions of Uganda, improving urban infrastructure in Uganda, and expanding education access and social services to as many Ugandans as possible.
