General Mark Milley

General Mark A. Milley is a retired four-star U.S. Army general and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he served as the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council. Over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, he held key leadership roles including Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army and commanding positions in the 10th Mountain Division, III Corps, and U.S. Army Forces Command. He participated in operations in Panama, Haiti, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and played a central role in guiding the military through critical moments such as the COVID-19 response, racial justice protests, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and support for Ukraine.

Milley holds a B.A. in politics from Princeton University and master's degrees from Columbia University and the Naval War College. Widely respected for his integrity and commitment to constitutional principles, he now continues to serve the country through national security education and strategic advisory roles.
