Jordan Hymowitz is the Managing Member of Philadelphia Financial Management, a San Francisco-based long-short hedge fund. The firm invests overwhelmingly in financial services stocks globally–and has a small niche focus on automobile stocks as a complement.
Mr. Hymowitz has 30 years of professional investment experience covering financial services both as a sell-side research analyst and as a buy-side hedge fund analyst. Prior to co-founding the Investment Manager, Mr. Hymowitz spent two years as a hedge fund analyst for Level Global, LP, and Aesop Capital covering financial services.
From 1993 to 2002, Mr. Hymowitz was a sell-side research analyst at Montgomery Securities and Robertson Stephens covering Specialty Finance and Automotive Services. The Wall Street Journal twice named him a “Master Stock Picker” in 2000 and 2002 both for his recommendations and earnings accuracy. Mr. Hymowitz was early to identify emerging industries. He was the first sell-side research analyst to publish comprehensive industry reviews on the auto finance, auto retailing and auto rental industries. Mr. Hymowitz graduated from the University of Michigan in 1990 with a B.A. degree in Political Science.
