Frontlines of Freedom Program Officer

ABOUT THE POSITION

RDI is building a movement to renew democracy in the US and around the world through incisive commentary, thought-provoking events, direct aid to frontline communities, and cultivating unlikely alliances.

We are looking for a Program Officer to take the lead in building out Frontlines of Freedom (FOF), a flagship initiative of RDI. FOF’s goal is to convey the importance of defending democracy both domestically and internationally in the face of creeping authoritarianism by amplifying the experience of dissidents who have fought dictatorship in their home countries. These individuals are uniquely positioned to break through partisan shields and offer a positive message about how inspirational American democracy is, and how important it is to defend. Originally launched through a partnership with CNN in 2021, FOF’s network now unites over 120 dissidents from more than 40 countries, sharing their stories through conferences, social media, and other platforms.

The Program Officer will lead FOF into its next phase, sharpening its theory of change and identifying innovative opportunities and partnerships to amplify the voices of these pro-democracy messengers and convey the importance of American leadership in the global fight against authoritarianism.
