Ellie Lerner serves as an Editorial Associate at the Renew Democracy Initiative, where she supports the editorial strategy and audience growth of The Next Move. Prior to joining RDI, Ellie worked with the Impact team at BerlinRosen, supporting strategic communications campaigns for labor and advocacy organizations. She previously worked with the press team for U.S. Congressman Steny Hoyer and conducted policy research at California Common Cause. Ellie holds an M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University, where she concentrated in political theory, and a B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College, where she graduated magna cum laude and received the award for Best Senior Thesis in the major for her research on political cults. Her interests include liberal democratic theory, authoritarianism, political polarization, and the role of ideas and media in shaping democratic life.
