Evan Gottesman is Chief of Staff at Renew Democracy Initiative. Before joining RDI, Evan served as Associate Director of Policy & Communications at Israel Policy Forum, where he led several major research projects and briefed senior members of Congress and legislative staff on a range of topics including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and United States-Israel relations. Evan has been published in leading international affairs outlets, including Foreign Policy, The Diplomat, World Politics Review, and Haaretz and has been quoted and cited in The Washington Post, USA Today, and VICE News.
Evan holds a master’s degree in international relations with a focus on Europe and Eurasia from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). While at SAIS, he led a team of graduate student consultants on a project for the U.S. State Department in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and was also an editor for the SAIS Review of International Affairs. Evan received his bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ in 2017.
